oil soaked plugs
When removing the plugs from my ls1, I found oil on all the driver's side plugs. This motor sat a lot, so I was hoping it was the valve guide seals, but someone told me they are not prone to leak. I did a compression check and got 160psi + or - a few psi on each cylinder.
This is the worst plug:
Do you think it's possibly the seals, or most likely rings?
Thanks

stupid gravity....but yeah he's right. have you replaced the valve seals yourself? Its easy to have some of the back ones, or even the front ones all the way on. In that case they shake of and are pushed back down by the spring retainer over and over. but this could be why if you just put new ones on.

Certainly change the valve seals 1st, it could be worn rings and don't believe anyone who tells you rings can't cause oil fouled plugs.
If you think gravity is gonna stop the oil from getting past the rings you should be working at the local chevy dealer.
