What is a pushrod valve gear
No such an animal in the list of parts.
Sure there is. I think it on the same isle as the chain stretcher.
Sorry man can't say as I heard of those either. Maybe that's what they are calling a camshaft now days.
The term "valve gear" is an old term for the system that operated the valve to admit air/steam/fuel/etc....

I have never heard of anything like that in the LSx related world.
sorry just had to add in hehehe
A pushrod Valve Gear is a miniature gear inside of each pushrod. I am sure that you have seen a number of post on bending pushrods with missed shifts or mechanical overevs. The aftermarket has addressed this with a new style pushrod. This has a gear actuated valve inside the pushrod to allow for beed down in a situation that would bend a normal pushrod. These are new and somewhat untested to date. I have not purchased them myself as cost is a factor. Also do not know if any sponsors carry them yet.
I found the likely source of Rocket-Doc's confusion on the Idaho Corvette Webpage www.idavette.net in a description of the 2001 LS6 engine.
