Default CC918 spring - what is the "blue stripe" issue?

I did a search and did not find clear direction as what to watch out for. I am looking at a set new in box from a board member and need to know if I should get newly produced springs or what?
These are to use with a TR224/112LCA cam.
thanks

I believe the earlier 918's had breakage issues, so they came out with a revised version and put a blue stripe to identify the revised ones.

.
CC had an issue with a batch of 918 springs a while back, so they started putting blue stripes so customers could be sure they weren't getting bad springs.

Blue stripe = good
no blue stripe = possibly bad (not necessarily tho)

Yep. The 'bad batch or batches' seems to have been produced in the late spring/early summer of '02. Right after they went with the blue stripe to tell the difference.

As was said, not all non-blue stripes are bad though. I have a set from late fall of '01 that have been perfect for over 2 years now. It was only a small amount from a short time period that were bad.
