Default F Body P/U strap to LQ9 windage tray clearance issue

I have done a bunch of searches and can't find any good tech on the easiest way to deal with this. I am mounting my 01 Z-28 pickup to my new 06' LQ9 and the P/U tube strap is contacting the windage tray not allowing it to sit flush agaist the tray so the nut will thread all the way down the main stud.

I really don't wan to use the old F body pan from my old 01' because it doesn't cover the entire crand the way the LQ 9 pan does.

Dare I dent the LS2 windage tray in a little so the strap will sit flush? Or do I need to cut some out of the F Body P/U strap?

I know this has done by millions of people on here, right?

Well I am going to dent the windage tray in a 1/2" after work unless someone has a better idea.
