this is actually on something other than an LS engine unfortunately, but i figured if anyone could help me it'd be here.. pulled threads out of block for the second time on the same engine.
The thread pitch is 7/16-20, the current size of the hole measures .507 inches. Its already been heli coiled once on the last build, the same hole failed AGAIN, not the heli coil itself, but the material around it. im running out of material to drill, is there some other alternative besides helicoil that will be stronger? the depth of the hole is 1.33 inches, the factory threads are sunk down the .33. in the other cases. i need it to hold 75 foot lbs all day long

Time Serts are a lot better than Heli Coil for a high torque application.

Since the hole is .507 you'll need to use the oversize inserts on the page below. The holes size required for the 7/16-20 insert is .578 so you're in luck.

Here's the hole sizes that the oversize inserts require.
