few lq4 and 853 questions I got my 2000 lq4(stock iron heads) running in my 85 trans am and it runs great.
Today i got a set of brand new 853 heads milled .035" with z06 springs for a pretty good deal.
Whats my compression going to be with this setup?
They dont have the funny groove setup so what headgaskets should i use?
What would be a good street strip cam for this setup?
Just want to hear some hear some ideas, not in a real hurry and dont want to spend a ton ethier.

My calculator came up with 10.66:1 for your compression ratio. I calculated this with a stock MLS gasket and a 60cc chamber.
I would just use GM MLS gaskets for a setup like this. In order to recommend you a cam we would need some more info about the car. Is it auto or manual? If auto what size stall do you plan on running?

We would probably end up doing a custom cam for you. We like to run the 233/239 camshaft with carbs but I am not sure you have enough converter for it. something like a 226/232 would probably work out better with the stall you currently have.
Yea really i can pick whatever stall i want, but i had 3000 stall in my camaro from these guys and i really liked it. What stall would u recommend for a cam like that?
Something closer to a 3500-3600 would be ideal for a cam like that. The 3000 might be ok, but the cam would operate much better with a larger stall. You should still easily be able to drive it around with that size stall.
