I got a 99 ls1 z28. Trans come out so I bought a small stall at 2500. I bought the jet Dst laptop tuner. I see a comp 280h cam on craigslist for 150 with lifters. Car has 3.42 rear end. You think this is too much for the stall and rear ratio? Cars is not daily driver but need to keep the DD potential.

a 2400 wont go very far with present day cams. id suggest an 02+ zo6 cam at the most. you could toss a big cam in it but itll be a dog. forget that jet tuning garbage, find someone with hp tuners of efi live and knows how to use it.

I would go with more converter before thinking about a cam, for a stock cam I'd go with at least 3600 and more like 4000-4200 if you want to get the most out of it.
But if you stick with the 2400 go small on the cam, as was said maybe an 02+ Z06 cam would be a good choice.

if your dead set on that converter, call an expert to spec you something.i had a 3000 stall with a TR220,114lsa that worked great for my combo...
if your not looking for big peak #s there are plenty of small cams out there to work with that converter and gears.
