Default Valvetrain noise After H/C/I

Yes I know valvetrain noise gets more noticeable after these kind of modifications, but I just want to make sure what I'm hearing is normal. There is no ticking, or knocking noises. I put on a 228/230 cam, PRC ls6 2.5 heads, and an ls6 intake manifold. Lifter preload is around .090. I just hear a lot more valvetrain noise. If I put my ear close to the top of the intake manifold I can defiantly hear it more. I read somewhere that ported heads will make valvetrain noise more noticeable. Is this true? What do loud valvetrain sound like? Its almost as though I can hear the damn cam spinning in there. Car runs fine by the way. Any advice?

stock lifters? How long was the motor apart for said mods? I had a buddy do a simple cam swap, out and in, and he had a collapsed lifter after he was done.

Haven't heard about the increase in lifter noise from a head swap. I went with LS7 lifters when I swapped heads, and its not any louder than before. Still sounds like a sewing machine though. LOL. have you let it warm up?

I can hear mine inside the car with the hood and window closed, but i don't think it's abnormally loud.
BTW, I'm running LS7 lifters w/.060" preload, YT rockers, and run .614" and .0617" lift, I also run a very similiar size cam(227/231).
If it'll help tomorrow I'll post up a Idle clip of mine in front of the engine with the hood open so you'll have something to compare it to. If you can you should do the same.

Okay I think im being paranoid. Mine is quieter then that. The thing that scared me was, as I was pulling out my stock camshaft it kind of got hung up a little. And I pulled a little harder then I should of. I was just scared I did damage to the cam bearings.

My tuner told me that my car would be noticeably quieter with the stock rockers, than the YT 6645 rockers I installed.

Yeah, you just need another cammed car to compare it to.

Are you running dual, or beehive valve springs?
Duals are also supposedly louder than the Beehive springs.

Sewing sounds are normal (unless obsessively loud), just turn up the volume

Default What do you guys think? Click on Picture.

Heres a clip I made of my valvetrain noise. Please try and not focus on the vacuuming sound, its my air pump that I have yet to remove from the car so its blowing air into the engine bay.
