I can run my LS6 M6 Z28 with 4:11's, with the stock LS1 tune through an entire tank on the freeway and get right at 29mpg. It is now tuned and I average about 19-22mpg, per tank with everyday driving( I have a heavy foot to). I had 3:73's for a while and the mileage was pretty much the same. You shift a lot at first with the 4:10, like into second before you are across an intersection but it isnt bad at all,it also makes 5th gear feel more like a 1-1 gear instead of an over drive gear. And yeah, you can blow the tires off any time, any place!

How much is your car lowered? any more than about 1 inch and these are typical problems.

i'm not entirely sure. but it seems about an inch. it really isn't all that low, but if i tuck up the exhaust an inch - will that cure my problem? if you look - you can see the pipes are hanging a little lower out the back than they could be

what part scrapes, on mine it was the passenger side collector and the big part of the Y pipe on the Pass side. Those parts cant be moved. Your running the 3 inch pipe right?

also, going up a wheel size and or tire size would help. Im running 18's with 40 series tires. Do you know what springs you have? They also make 1/2 inch spacers you can put between your strut and A-Arm, it will raise your car 1/2 inch and that might make all the difference.

I think they come in 17 and 18, you would have to look at your tire. Here is a link to the spacers

A Magnaflow is already pretty quiet, one of the quietest. However, if it is old and has a lot of miles on it, the packing may be burn out of it, then it will be way to loud. So, you may just need to replace your current muffler.
