Default Back on LS1Tech with a new ride

Hey guys, I sold my LT1 in august last year - now im back here with a new (to me) LS1 camaro SS. I'll be picking it up on tuesday.

Info on the car:

Full suspension (eibach springs, slp subframes, bmr lca, bmr panhard, bmr adjustable torque arm) Bare cross drilled and slotted rotors with ebc green pads. Full exhaust 3" (pacesetter long tubes, magnaflow), new built rear end with 4.10's(new gm gears, tom's axles, aburn posi, welded axle tubes, new bearings/seals) Aluminum driveshaft, motor and trans have 20,000 miles (Motor: ported heads,gm hot cam kit (behives, pushrods),z06 intake,hv slp oil pump, k&n fipk kit) z06 wheels 275's front 315's rear, car was dyno tuned at r.e.t. and made 406 hp to the wheels on a conservative tune

So i'm wondering what kind of gas mileage i can expect from this - i know it's going to suck, but i'm wondering what level of suck this is going to be. wondering how the drivability is going to be with those 4.10's? Last question, what RPM should I be shifting at? Seller said 6200 is the limit.

Thanks guys, will post pictures later this week.

I don't see why your gas mileage would suck at all,I spin mine to the moon so I couldn't tell ya a good shift point lol,I think all m6s should have 4.10s,that's personal opinion though, there really not bad at all, this guys car I detailed was a 00 ss stalled auto,228 with ported 243s,some other stuff and his gas mileage was great, one thing I will say to add is a cut out, just for when ya wanna make noise, one of my fav exhaust set ups is magnaflow catback and a cutout, get the best of both worlds, well congrats man,be safe and God bless

Congrats on the car! I would not worry too much about mileage, it should not suffer much with those mods, just your right foot

In regards to the rockers and springs, betting it has upgraded springs and pushrods with that hotcam. The stock rockers are just fine with an aftermarket cam, no need to replace them.

Gas mileage should be near stock or better depending on the tune. That car doesn't have a huge cam in it so it shouldn't suffer. As a shift point I would say 6500 would be a good start with that cam Might have to lower it a few hundred depending on where it peaks.

Seems to be a little high on the hp side of things, but sounds like it should be a decent combo for playing with every now and then.

i have yet to see the dyno sheet (will tomorrow), but why do you think the numbers are high? I drove it, and it sure seems like 400+

Question: how do I keep these longtubes from hitting just about everything? I've already busted a hanger loose going over my driveway.

Basically I'm looking at Bolton ls6's that are making like 385hp or so. A few up over 400 but that's with more aggressive boltons.. I guess it's deff possible if the head work was done really well with a good tune..but it's still a 241 head and you said mild head work which still puts it as not as good as the 243 head..

Eaither way I wasn't trying to troll, hella clean car and I'm sure it scoots... But your gonna get the mod bug.... Fast.

They tell me that there is no cure Eaither just treatment
