Default Specs for machining 243's

Ok guys need a hand here. I have come across a set of 243's that a buddy was pretty much going to scrap because he is upgrading to a set of AFR heads. My question is he picked these up used and they were supposedly milled once? Who knows!!! Is there a point on these heads where i can mic to see if they truly have been milled. I have searched around on here but can't seem to come up with a good answer. When we take our heads to a machine shop i'm sure they have all these specs somewhere right?? And i will need those specs as well. Thanks

Measure the thickness of the entire head, from top of where the valve cover sits to the head gasket surface, that will tell you.

Thanks for reply guys...Anyone know how many cc's a stock 243 head is? Is there a reference for cc size to cr with stock pistons. At what point do i need to be concerned with flycutting? What is the minimal limit of pvc? I plan on claying the engine once i get a new cam. Thanks again for the info.

Stock combustion chamber on 243 heads is 64.45 cc I believe. A good machinist can CC the heads and figure how much if any has been milled off.
