Default Fly cutting

I'm putting together a lq4 to swap into my 84 trans am and have a question. First here's the motor specs:

2003 lq4 short block 60k miles
TEA stage 3 5.3 heads
58cc chambers
2.055" valves
.650" springs
Ls6 intake
Ported t.b.
1 3/4" long tubes.

I really wanted to run the ms3 cam, but everyone says I'll have ptv clearance issues even with my factory dished pistons. I have a almost new tr224 on the shelf but don't feel it's enough cam for my heads and motor. If I got a ms3 cam, how deep should a machine shop go on the fly cuts? Where's the cheapest place to buy stock bore rings and standard main bearing? Or should I disassemble a stock head and buy a fly cutter and do them in the block?

You can do it in the block, you'll need at least .080 cuts, both int an exhaust.

Like Mark said above, you can do it yorself in the car or on the engine stand. You will need to degree the cam in first, and then check PTV to se how much clearance you really have and need to cut. You will need to rent a cutter that is larger then your current valve size for proper radial clearance, and also flycut using your current head, otherwise you will/can have issues. Isky Cams sells/rents the tools.

I have a set of Lindy cutters that work great in the head to cut, also no modifying needs to be done like using a junk head with the valve seats removed...I used my TFS 215s that are on my car now to cut my pistons...

pm me when you are ready to use them if interested
