Well we sure would like to know if its a 10, a 20 ..a 30 or 40 spot.

Throwing a ballpark figure for improvement would be fun..

I never heard of anyone doing a baseline..dyno..then dyno with the modified setup and then..going back to dyno the baseline again..

Whats the point? Was the baseline within an expected range or not?

Look I hope to see and hear the amazing AFR heads throwing down amazing hp...

Just don't really see what the point of A ..B...and then back to A dyno testing..(and I'm like almost never negative but come on!

Well what ever ..I'll be looking foward to the results ..even with a stock cam..which by the way almost none of us were really expecting anything..

Most previously existing modified heads run on a ls1 or an ls6 without a cam swap didn't really do **** ...

Either way..Good luck!

I don't want to spoil Tony and Rick's fun... They've worked hard on this and the results show it!

A-B-A testing is done all the time in a lot of industries. It is a true verification of the "delta" between componant testing. I do this all the time at the track and on the engine dyno when checking cam designs or tune up changes.

You will!

The test results, and then the track testing, will definitely change everyone's opinion on what results you can obtain from a simple head swap. Just like when the AFR 165 Ford heads hit the market in 1999. That particular head with a well engineered, small runner, high velocity design caused quite a stir in the FoMoCo arena. These new LSX heads will force the LS1 enthusiast to think more "out of the box" and build potent combinations a lot differently than before! I can't wait to get them rolling!

That was the past.... wait until you see the future!

Might not be a bad idea for anyone who is well acquainted with Tony Mamo to ask him for some data for the site, along with the other technical info we would want to analyze the results.

I did not like the results from that one test where a 4.1xx bore was used since all of our noted head porters flow stuff now on a 3.900 bore. I for one will be looking for objective flow numbers on a 3.900 of all their stuff.

I know, like and use most of AFR's products, but working at the School of Automotive Machinists here in Houston, Texas I am almost shocked that AFR never has sent us anything to look at. I have talked to them some at the shows in Detroit and once at the fun ford meet in Ennis and was rather surprised at their attitude that all other heads weren't really flowing what was being quoted. Sure a lot weren't and aren't but years ago we were already running nines in big camaros with stock ported heads. It takes a lot of air to do this.

Also we have articles in all the bigger mags fairly regularly and are an impartial testing site. We don't sell heads for a living although I plan to myself that's for sure! Anyway you won't find a group of people that know more about the LSx stuff than us since we've been doing it since they came out. Why haven't you sent any of your heads to a place like us that really knows these heads, Tony? I can contact you if you would like to.

My direct contact at AFR said the following that I can repeat.

The results are good we are happy but we can't tell you any numbers yet but we're happy & Tony is happy.

Tony will post something on LS1tech later today (and he did) to quell the speculation etc.

Likewise the reason for the A-B-A testing delay was that PCM was discovered to have had an LS1edit file written to it at some point. The tuning didn't appear altered but they wanted to be sure. They wanted to do the last leg of testing with a stock tune to make sure and verify their gains were not tune related.

I ment to post this a few days ago and got side track with the Southern forum.
