Default 224r and 5.3 2.5 heads question

going to put a 224r cam in my t/a 6spd. what size head gasket should i use for thouse heads. i want to use mls what thinkness do you guy think i sould use? what do you guys think of the tsp 224r cam? what power should i make on this setup i have all the bolt ons already long tubes full exhuast ls6 intake. thanks for advice.

do you have the heads already or no? That gasket will be fine, but if you want a little more compression and if you are going to pull the heads again for whatever reason you might want to use another. The brand is slipping my brain right now. Im sure someone will chime in.

dont have heads yet got cam and other stuff. going to put them on in next couple weeks. what gasket do you think i should use for prc 5.3 2.5 heads. i heard these heads are realy good. what heads would you rec.

i was looking at those same heads... yet everyone keeps pushing me toward the stage 1 or 2.5 ls6 heads.

I have that cam and 5.3 Stage 2.5 heads milled to 59cc. I used the stock thickness GM MLS gasket. SO I would say it depends on if your heads are milled or not and compression youre going for.

Those smaller cams seem to like the ls6 heads more but they are still a solid head.

i would go for the higher compression, with 59cc chambers and .040 head gasket, that should put you at about 11.5:1 and you can run it on 93 octane gas cause of the better quench! that is if you plan on never changing your cam, if you do, dont mill the heads and get the .040 cometic head gasket, it will put you at about 11:1
