My old motor and the start of the new build..
Well guys it's official. Out with the old and in with the new. I pulled my old motor this past weekend and started tearing it down to get the parts I needed for the new motor and guess what I found? Now im not sure what happened first but the motor ran hot a while back and when I went to check it to see if it was alright the car would smoke really bad on the decel. No wonder why. It never smoked before so that's what makes me think this happed after it over heated. If you look at the #8 piston the corner of it was all melted down.. What do you guys think happened? The rest of the pics are just of the car with the engine out of it.. I will post pics as everything starts to come together..

Putting in a LS2 402ci.. The block is at the machine shop as we speak.. Once they are finished then we are going to be putting the short block together and start getting this baby ready to go back in the car.. Everything is speced to make about 650-700 to the flywheel.. BTW I have the cam that cam out of the old motor if anyone is interested.. It's a custom futral cam cut by cam motion the specs are 232/236-646/612@114LSA Not sure if you could use these with stock heads without fly cutting but we can find out if anyone wants the cam..
