Default 228r cam gains?

I did times in sig just last night and I was wondering if I added a 228r cam and a little more suspension if I could hit mid 11's. How many tenths will this cam usually gain you?

wait im not really sure if i understand what your saying. your sig says you hit 12.3 at 109.5 with a high da. However your asking if you could do a worse time with a cam (mid 12's) i think you probably meant mid 11's and yes i would say so. You probably have a couple more tenths in that time with a better da on top of that a cam with a good stall like yours should be good for another 4-5 tenths off your time.

Yea I changed it. And actually that d.a is not bad for my area considering it is usually about 2400-3000. If I could shed .5 with a cam I would prob be happy

1400 da? What is your altitude I assume its much higher than sea level? At any rate yes i think if you could duplicate that run just with a cam i dont see why a solid 11 sec pass is out of the question and as i said earlier it would be even better with a lower da.

1400 isn't bad at all, just not great. Our track (Gateway, before it closed) was at 400ft but the DA was usually hovering between 1000-2000. Not everyone runs in -DA all the time. Got a pic of the slip? You're probably in the 11s in perfect air, so no worries there. Mid 11s shouldn't be hard with that cam, good gains all over. Just gotta make sure ya hook!

You may get there with just the cam and a good tune by its self. If your getting good traction and with that stall your going to have way more mid range power and still fill good gains on the top. I would say 11.9-12.0 with no problem just the cam and tune.

If the cam would get me down into high 11's I wuld probably be happy. I would hope with my front qa1 adjustable shocks, some lca's and lca relocation brackets I could possibly get a 1.6 60ft.

maybe consider having you stall reworked for a higher rpm.get a cam with alot of low end torque, narrow lsa and advanced some.

228R would be a good low end/midrange cam while still pulling good up top. A "1/4 mile" cam is more along the lines of an MS4/TRex/Vindicator/etc. That won't be so hot low end and midrange with a smallish stall and stock gears. My friend has a H/C/I LS2 with a 3600 and 3.73s. Cam is a torquer 2 and he loves the it runs both street and strip. He also has some weight loss but he runs 10.50s on motor. Pretty good for a smaller cam.

heavy car hiway gears needs torque.I saw someone dyno a 228r with a 110 lsa, don't know the ICL. it made good torque .small cams make cylinder pressure which helps smaller engines make torque.54-455-11,use this cam on the latest comp cam quest for the most torque.if you want hp and wind the motor out you need gears and a big stall.Patrick-G will spec you the cam that maximizes you combo.

When I had my 228r, fast90 and 42lbs injectors I picked up a total of 77rwhp n 49rwtq. If that's helps u at all. I know your looking for 1/4 mile gains, bunt figure I'd just throw it out there
