I have about 1000 miles on mine and no problems yet. I did my own cam install and I was positive something was gonna break, i figured I didnt tighten something down, but so far so good. (Knock on wood)

I agree with smokeur50 on having to cheeck them because they are stock replacements,
2nd part of this topic is, How many miles will these springs last? 10K to 20K

Re: Any One Having Problems With Comp 918 Springs
I had mine installed in mid-June when a Rev 1115 broke on me. I currently have almost 7K miles on them. Nothing special was done to them during install since I was 1000mi away from home and the dealership was the closest place to have them installed.
No drag strip use, one mini-prix, and some spirited street driving since the install, though. Since I've broken springs every summer, I am getting paranoid about all these POS aftermarket springs.

Iwouldnt trust them. I was a Rapid Motorsports and saw a box of pistons and there was only 7. The 8th one was in a million pieces in the motor. The owner had to get a whole new block. New batch or old batch I wouldnt put them on my car if you paid me.

Don't even get me started on this one! The last time I voiced my opinion on this subject, the entire post disappeared. Let's just say "Not with a ten foot pole".

But I always check installed height and spring pressures just to be on the safe side. With a head thats had work done to it, its only smart to do it. You just never know how deep someone cut the valve job or how much the seats are off when they installed them. Any good install shop would be smart enough to check that just to be on the save side.

Re: Any One Having Problems With Comp 918 Springs
I have had two break on springs I have installed and had another one come in from a reputable shop that installed them. I do agree on a head that has any type of port work or machining done you should check it but, all of these 918's I have seen break were on stock heads and I am quite sure would have checked out OK on installed height and bind.

Re: Any One Having Problems With Comp 918 Springs
If not the 918's is there a beter stock replacement spring without machine work?
What is suggested installed height on a stock ls1?
thanks

Re: Any One Having Problems With Comp 918 Springs
I know recently a better option for stock replacement came out involving a dual spring without any machining which is suppose to be better than the 918s.
I believe they are the dual rev springs but don't quite recall. Someone here i am sure will confirm whether they are in fact the dual rev springs. I would go with this dual spring for better safety of not dropping a valve and overall piece of mind!
Best of luck.
