Default L92 cam swap

I am very new to the LS family, and have a ton of stupid questions, so if any body can help, here goes.

I bought a 6.2L L92 long block out of a 2007 Escalade with 5000 miles. I have it resting in my rock buggy, with a 2010 camaro intake and throttle body, 98-02 pulleys and harmonic balancer, and water pump, and custom stainless steel 2" long tube headers.
I also have the LS 376-480 control system, complete with gas pedal and all sensors.
I am looking to install a comp cams LSR cam with 285-301 duraiton, 621-624 lift, and 109 lobe seperaiton. I understand the tune on that computer should work fine for a while, until I can get it to a Dyno shop.
I also already have the 3 bolt cam sprocket and know about the valve springs and retainers

Questions:

Where do I find the tool to hold up the lifters while I slide the cam out and back in?
What kind of chain tensioner do I use up front?
Do I need to change the timing cover?
can I use the stock lifters?
What else do I need?
What is that thing on the top back of the valley cover? is it some kind of cam sensor?

I seriously doubt it will idle with that cam and the stock tune.

it's not a stock tune.. it is a GM Racing tune.
