If your gonna rebuild it, your probably going to replace the pistons, right? Then it doesnt matter which one you get.

I believe the LQ4 is very common in the 3/4 ton trucks (and vans too??). My LQ9 came out of an '05 Silverado SS (same motor as the Escalade). There is a certain letter or number in the VIN that will verify what it is. Maybe someone can share that info if they have it handy.

The LQ9s are Vin code "N". Escalades and Silverado SS only. All other LQ 6.0 motors are LQ4s.

All lqs are 24x FYI
Although some years came with 2 lengths bolts and earlier versions came with 3 lengths bolts

24x is the crank reluctor wheel
Currently the ls engines use 2 reluctor wheels
Older use 24x
Newer use 58x
Depends on yrs and vehicles

yes all that stuff will bolt on the that motor... its pretty much the exact same as a ls2... bolts right in and all the sensors and the same and everything... the only thing you wil have to do is use your f-body accessories and tap a 3rd bolt hole for the alternator... and of course its Iron
