Did cams go up in price? Seems silly using one that had issues.

Do it right first time!! Don't mod out of your budget. If I am turning 6.5k rpm+ I would want the smoothest surface possible.

I'm not a fan of used internal engine parts. That being said, can't really tell anything from the pics. Can you feel nicks/gouges in the lobes with your fingernails? If so I wouldn't use it.

the nicks could be deeper then the hardening ,which could lead to rapid wear.

how does it feel to touch ? marks on cams show up real easy but not always are rough to tear up .
if money is not an object maybe something not so questionable comes along .

is it a true trex or a copy ? turning 6.5 or better need to hook up the rod bolts as they are the weak link at high rpm . also a cheap insurance policy .

What lifters are you guys using with the Trex? I ordered Comp 850-16 but there on back order. I'm trying to stay away from ls7 lifters.

This is one of those cases where trying to save a couple hundred $$$ can end up costing you several thousand $$$.

Find the cam you like and buy it, fresh, unused, and you can rule the possiblity of wrecking havoc on your internals out.
