Nice looking car. I have read about tons of mods on this site, and yours seem very well thought out and put together well. Good job on that. Im sure the car is fun to drive. I spoke to Damian about cams for my car as well. Its funny bc our cams specs are very, very similar

Nice story almost made me want to cry J/K, but on a serious note I hope thats the turn out for my ride, and damn your car looks badass. I have the same wheels but my rears suck they are the stock size 17's what are the specs for your rears in wheels and tires. Can't say it enough damn your car looks good.

Thanks man, my fronts are 17x9 with 265/40-17 & the rears are 17x10.5 with 315/35-17. I actually bought the wheels used & they had some worn Eagle GSD3's mounted on them. The GSD3's were also 315/35-17, but they were quite a bit wider than these Toyo's & didn't look nearly as good as they bulged out quite a bit. These Toyo's TQ's fit the 10.5" width perfectly! I've been told the 555R Nitto's run very narrow for 315's, so I really think they would have looked too small on these wheels.

Anyway, the combo works perfectly & looks great!

As a matter of interest, don't you guys have said tuners that are so well known that all LS guys use them?
Like here in Auckland NZ we have 4 firms that Dyno tune extremely well on LS cars, N/A, Turbo or Blown, O2.
I personally prefer to travel 130mls to a guy that seems to be a level above those in Auckland. He tunes a huge amount of race cars, here and Europe etc. Bookings are essential.
Like the Aussie guys, they know who's who in their different states to take their cars too!
You guys seem to have one person that seems to pop up on occassion as a tuner, Pat G....apart from him being a cam Guru also, is their no designated tuners!!!!

Beautiful car! I personally think the ss3600 is just fine for a DD. Kinda wish I went 4000 and yes, as a DD.

It is really difficult to find a good tuner, especially one that lives close to you. There are a lot of people that have to travel quite a distance to the tuner. Sometimes, the good tuners will travel around the states to tune peoples cars.

yep tune is most important really. you can throw all the good parts you want in your motor but it means nothing unless it runs well together.

I think I recognize that lake! Boomer lake! I lived in Stillwater for several years during college.

There is an F-body club there, some of the guys are alright, I think its called Stillwater Sportscar club.

The build looks great man! Glad it turned out well.

Nice work on the car. It looks and sounds great.

I can attest to the the tune being the most crucial part of any setup (as everyone knows). My first tune on my SS was done locally and it was garbage. Had it tuned at a shop 3 hours away and although it was better, it still wasn't right. I will be taking a page from your book and learning to tune myself when I get my next LS car.

Yes sir, Boomer Lake. I took a cruise around the east side right over by the new Kicker World Headquarters building that day at lunch. Pulled over in the parking lot there & thought that looked like a good place for a pic.

I didn't know about any club, I'll have to see what I can find out. Thanks for the heads up!

You know, I really enjoyed learning & working on the car, but it's been very nice this last month or so just driving & not having it on jack stands in the garage.

Most of the people that come back unhappy with their results put in about 10% of the work (and research) you did. Nice to see someone very pleased with the fruits of their own labor. Just goes to show what some extra research can do for you, rather than slapping parts together and hoping you get the same results as some guy on the internet. Congrats!

Nice car! The ttm's look great...good to hear that the 315 toyo fit the 10.5 perfect. I have been looking at tires for sometime, but have been leary because some tires run small on the rim. Sumitomo's being one of them, as they are to narrow for the 10.5 imo.

I know I'm kind of bringing this post back from the dead, but I just wanted to post a quick update, as I have pretty much been completely off LS1Tech for nearly a full year now.

At the time of this original post, I had just finished 6-8 months of research & a constantly torn down car in my garage. Since my hiatus last year, I have been driving her at least 3-4 times per week (thanks to a very mild winter thus far) & I feel exactly the same today as I did a year ago about everything. Even after the newness wore off, I'm still completely & totally giddy every time I fire her up & take a spin, & I still wouldn't change a single thing about the mods I made!

I mentioned to several people when I finished up last April that I had done everything I wanted & I was done modding. Everybody said I was crazy & didn't believe me. I haven't so much as touched anything on the car other than oil & filter changes over that time. 6,000 miles later & it still runs & drives like brand new (only with lots more power ). I should also mention, I'm not exactly doing burnouts all the time, but these Toyo drag radials are still in excellent shape after 6k. I would expect to get at least 15k out of them at this rate. Again, I'm not hard on them at all & they don't see track time, but they have been perfect for me & my goals. I can hook good enough on the street whenever a Mustang decides to test me at a stoplight, that's for sure.

Anyway, thanks again to everybody on here. I'll try to come around more often & throw my input in some threads to help people out when I can & all that. I owe that much to this community at least. I never meant to disappear for so long, it just kind of happened.

Thanks again!

Good to hear you're still happy with it!
IMO, all it needs now is a 4-point roll bar for a final touch.
