What is the lift on that cam? I have not seen very many people willing to stick with stock springs after a decent cam install.
From the Lingenfelter website
Underneath that heading I saw a GT2-3 so.......
From the Lingenfelter website
LPE has developed several new camshaft profiles for the LS1 engine to improve horsepower and torque without sacrificing the LS1’s driveability. LPE only uses induction hardened cam cores to produce a OEM quality camshaft that can be used with the factory lifters. Cams require spring and retainer changes. Some of these camshafts are not compatible with stock computer programs and will require software changes.

any new cam you'll need springs; gt2-3 is 207/220 .57x/.58x 118.5lsa. basically an ls6 cam on steriods. since your gonna have an 02 oil pump and chain should still be good. just springs and retainers would be fine. i'd pick up the manley kit from SDPC, its spring good for .600 lift and tit. retainers for 178. or you can pick up some comps 918's and re-use your stock steel retainer or buy some tit. ones. new push rods arent required but i'd pick some up as well. some hardened 7.4 pushrods.

At a minimum put 918's springs in with that cam. If I were installing it I would also stick in some titanium retainers and hardened pushrods.
Don't try to use LS6 springs or your stock springs. You'll be very sorry if you do.
Quick reference chart
your stock springs
918 springs
Got it?

read over it, read it again, and then read it one more time .
beyond the normal first time cam install stuff its not that hard. oil pan bolts, oil pick up tube, getting the timing crank on the crank snout, and using a shitty vavle spring too, ect. i've done 2 since the first one and they keep gettin easier. first time around i did the whole shebang; cam, springs, pushrods, oil pump, timing, chain, pulley, and intake. so it took me a bit.
