But, also that was with a stock TB with no bypass and heavy 11" wheels with 315's and a stock catback. Your car is running pretty lean already and I dont see much hp gain from a tune, driveability will definitly improve though.
Youre making great power but, is this the same cam that pulled 430hp on stock heads a while back??

bills car the one that made 430 w/ open cut out and 419 w/closed has the stepped headers and merge collectors and a custom y pipe with a merge collector in it also it is a awesome set up that not many have tried/know about bill works with circle and nascar type racing teams and uesed the technology and r&d from those cars and made it work in his and it really does work

it is a set up that really makes power over other header set ups
i wish i knew about this header and merge collector set up before i got my SLP set up

Come on, guys, calm down...

There's no need for this...

I will say to thechef, however, that if you are saying it's impossible to run 11.5's with an internally-stock, naturally-aspirated 6-speed LS1, you're sorely mistaken, because I've done it as well. I have timeslips that I could scan, if necessary, and many, many witnesses of the run, as well as TONS of people that can vouch for the fact that my motor has never been touched.

10's have been reached with a cam-only setup, also. Mike Hoffpauir has run 10.98 w/ his Futral 226 cam. If all goes well, I'll be after that record personally next weekend at the LS1/LT1 Spring Break Shootout.

You should trip on over to the 1/4 mile section of this message board and poke around. Despite the overwhelming number of threads like this on ls1tech you will find there is more than just dyno racing going on here.

I have a question about these Eastside cams...

Since Eastside hasnt published the cam specs on these things, does anyone think that they discovered something that other people dont know about yet? Are they doing something special to their cams to get these great numbers? Or are these just a good all around cam that would compare to lets say the MTI X1 or TR227 or something?

The reason I am asking is because I pretty much had my heart set on the TR227, but dont want to buy it and then a week later, East Side makes their cams available to the general public and totally re-writes the book on LS1 cams...

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Initially, I was very interested in this cam because it seemed to put out exceptional #'s, BUT I believe this cam has been hyped up just a WEE bit too much after seeing this thread.

I'm not knocking this cam at all, I'm sure it might be very good, but it certainly hasn't really proven with these two drastically different results to be much different from a lot of good cams that are already out on the market.

My opinion may be incorrect, but I feel the first 430RWHP claim made about this cam was something of a fluke. I feel that the individual (Bill) who owned this car probably has a factory freak on top of the fact that he has a custom exhaust.

I'm waiting to see if anyone gets anywhere near his #'s with stock heads and this cam.
