It should have... The SLP pump is the only one with built-in double roller clearance.

I had a Rollmaster double with a ported LS6 oil pump on my LS1 and now have a Manley double with a Melling oil pump on my LS2 and have had no clearance issues with either.

Crank pulley (dampener) bolts up against the oil pump drive gear. This gear comes with the new timing set and it is the correct length for the double roller right out of the box. The dampener fits perfectly.

I installed the SLP double roller timing set and ported SLP oil pump for a customer of mine, and I did have clearance issues. I used the enclosed spacers because without them the chain would have come alarmingly close to rubbing against the inner left portion of the pump, I tried it without them 1st as a mock up. And if clearance wasn't going to be an issue, than why would the manufacturer enclose spacers?

I spent about an hour and a half, with a die grinder and sanding disk, clearancing the inside of cover till it fit right. If others didn't have the issue I envy you. Next time I will go with LS2 chain.

from what I have read, double rollers are recommended when you have a combination of the following:

1. high RPM's
2. aggressive cam lobe ramp rate
3. high spring pressures

You didn't need the spacers. The instructions are clear and accurate. Like you, I thought I was smarter than SLP and tried the spacers. It didn't take long for me to decide they knew what they were doing and toss them. I have never had a single issue without them...and have never heard of anyone who did once they bolted it up and ran it.
