Default Ticking noise coming from LS6

I have an 02 Z06 and I have a ticking noise that comes and goes, seems to be in the area of the front/top of the motor..has anyone heard of this before?
I am having a new TR 227/224 reverse split cam put in this coming Friday along with an underdrive pulley and wonder if I should take it in to the dealer first? I had the valve covers off when I put my FLP system on and did not see anything wrong there-My buddys 01 Z06 had his oil consumption problem fixed with the new rings and his quit making what seemed to be the same noise after the fix was performed..

Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.!!.

Might be the air check valves fluttering with the headers. Mine make some noise with the Hookers. Thunder has restrictor plates if that is what the noise is.

Thanks for getting back with me, I have heard of that as well..my noise was there before I put the FLP's on unfortunately, mostly concerned if it ever becomes a problem would like it to be covered under warrenty. Hopefully after the cam kit is installed it will go away(wishful thinking im sure)

Does it sound like an exhaust leak? Sometimes an exhaust leak has a ticking sound to it.

My used to tick like that and found out that it was a bent pushrod. When you replace the cam put in new pushrods and see if that cures it. Did for me. Good luck.
