Has anyone ran this cam???
Comps 265HR -15 (High Lift)
212 218 558 563 115 LSA
So, i have done tons of searches on this cam and i cant find anyone posting up their numbers. All i see are threads about people inquiring about info and some guy coming in recommending a larger cam. Obviously a larger grind will yield better power and torque gains. However, i would like to document the numbers people have put down with this cam.
Thanks,
Mike

I bet you would be hard pressed to find anyone running a cam that appears that "outdated"
very tiny cam with somewhat low lift, even most modern small cams run a bit more lift from what I've seen
did you get it for free or something?

That's the cam that was suggested to me by TSP to run in my truck. Reason behind the choice was that it is 4 wheel drive, heavy, and running on 35" tires. I would lose too much bottom end torque if I went much bigger duration wise.
If you want to see numbers of the cam, you can find some in the performance truck section, but as to what it will do in the car ??

you can use the comp cam cam quest to compare it to other ls comp cams.you will need a smog cam ,that mite work.you need -5* over lap to work.also look at comp 54-455-11,its a LSr cam.

It is primarily a truck cam, but I noticed one guy on here did an 11.993 @ 116 with a 212/218 cam and a 1.734 sixty in a car. Nuzee is far into the 11s with the 204/212 cam (little smaller than my 212/218 114) and 3500 stall +bolt ons. So I know the cam CAN work lol, even if it is an unusually small selection. I guess I'm a little unusual lol. Actually I would have went bigger but I didn't have my stall yet and I NEEDED to do my lifters, so I figured I'd throw this pee wee cam in there for the time being (that way I didn't need to do the stall just to get on the road, the lifters were enough lol). I got it tuned and it runs like stock (since it is an ls6 replacement cam) with a tad more lope...but barely. My car is not exactly light and so it feels like a real gain on the street in mid range (where I usually am). I don't really get to the track and wanted street manners over all else, that and reliability/life. 224/224 durations seem to be the new pee wee cams though.

I've got a Comp 54-456-11. Great manners...and runs pretty darn good for a street cam. I was very happy with the choice. But I didn't want anything really wild either.

If you have to pass a Smog Test and good street manners are needed, then it is a great choice. Car Craft Magazine got 480hp on stock tune. I wish I had got one instead of my 216/220.

Sorry man, no numbers as of yet. I will say however that I know of someone who put down 355rwhp with the smaller 206/212 version (no headers [just '-01 manifolds], catback, stock ls6 intake, 918 spings, pushrods, retainers, lid/filter, dyno tune and the cam). I'd still go for the 212/218 low/high lift combos (low lift has 114 lsa instead of 115) since the 216/220 provides more duration than the lift nessesitates imo, from what I've read. Now this doesn't really mean much as every car will run different and respond different. Big cams aren't the only way to get moving.

Here's a good link to get your research of these cams under way. I went with the XR265HR-114. http://www.superchevy.com/technical/...en3/index.html
