Question Need cam suggestions, please

I'm in the process of choosing a cam for my car and need suggestions from experience. I now have a TCI 2800 and 3:73. The guy that built my heads say they are good for about .600 lift and flow a little over 300 and are milled .030, (probably comparable to MTI stage 2) I will also have longtubes and ls6 intake. I had the MTI X1 in mind. What would a good cam for the most power and what kind of dnyo #s should I expect? The car won't be a daily driver and I plan to go up on my stall. Suggestions please--Thanks in advance.

Do you have to pass emissions? You say it's not a daily driver, so something more than the X1 may be worthwhile based on your planned usage of the car.

I want to pass emissions and make as much power as possible - sounds like I want it all!!! I do drive the car 2-3 times a week. Someone told me that year 96 and up that to pass emissions they just plug into your computer and look for codes and that by law they don't have to ****-ize the exhaust or have to hook your exhaust up to the machine.

I know in California many have passed the sniff test by tuning a 224/114.

I would also like to have some cam help, I want to make as much HP as possible, don't have to pass emissions and want it to idle great. I'm going to be running a turbo in the very near future and installing about a 2800-3200 stall. Any suggestions?

Drivability is most important here but I want the ultimate sleeper so maybe something that doesn't have as much duration? Heck, I don't know, somebody give some suggestions.

I would highly suggest that you do your homework on turbocharging if you havent already. There is a lot to it. I was wanting to turbo charge at first but after looking into it-I decieded to go with heads, cam etc. One thing for sure - turbo cars are a kick in the pants, nothing like that spooling sound and feeling that touque. If you have done your homework then you should ask your turbo dealer their recommendation for cam specs.

At first I would say for emissions (if they do a tailpipe test), stick with a 220/220 or a 224/224, either one on a 114LSA. Here in AZ we only do the OBD2 plug and read test (unless you fail that and then they run you on the sniffers) so we can get away with anything.

BUT!!!!!

you tossed in that turbo charger and that changes EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you want a turbo car or do you want a N/A car.

People need to learn to Decide what you want to do with the car and THEN come ask your question about which cam. Don't ask your question and then over 5 pages give the info on your intended use.
I did know which way I was going with the car before I asked about the cam. Not meaning to offend you but you didn't pay attention to who threw in the turbo issue -- It wasn't me.

I would check to make sure TX is doing the OBD2 test. If so then you can go with as large as you WANT
