Default ls1 is giving me hell!

ok so i did a tick lvl 2 rebuild and on first start the motor started tapping VERY loud. i figured it was a broken valve sring but i pulled valve covers off and it all looks very good unfortunately... i wish it was just that. im gonna check rod bearingg this weekend but if someone can give me a brief rundown on throwing a video up on here and i will show you guys the actual sound. im looking for any type of advice if you gys have experience and can help. ty!

I just read a thread a cpl days ago , a guy said that his maf was dirty and it caused a knocking that he said sounded just like piston slap . He says he cleaned the maf and most of the noise was gone so He bought a new maf , put it on and the noise never was to return .

Well I'm guessing the dirty maf caused the computer to set the timing wrong therefore causing probably a bad pinging . It's the first I've ever heard of something like that also , but it is possible . If that was in fact the case (?) one would think the knock sensors would nip it in the bud ?

Question , did You turn the motor over for like 20sec at a time a few times with fuel and ignition disabled before starting it ?

Cut your oil filter apart to see if you have any debris.
