Default Should I change them

I'm about to tear my camaro down and put a torquer 2 cam in and valvesprings. The valve springs are on the stock 241s off the trans am. Would it be worth taking the heads off and replacing the lifters and just using the 241s or do you guys think it would be ok to just change the chain, oil pump, springs and pushrods. Thanks

how many miles are on the motor now. most lifter start ticking around the 130000mile range from what i have seen. mine collapsed at 132000, bought to do a T/A with 116000 and another at 149000. if you're gonna pull the heads and have some down time get 'em ported and milled.

Its got a 117,000 on it and it sounds great. I'm trying to get away without taking the heads off and having to measure for different pushrods if i use a LS7 lifter. I just all ready have the cam, pushrods and springs and i figured why not put em in. I guess I could put it together without taking the heads off then if a lifter starts pinging just buy a set of head gaskets and pull them and swap lifters then.

yeah, that sounds good. dont think you would need longer pushrods, but it does take a while. if you milled the heads you will need longer pushrods. put a torquer V2 in my buddies TA. he loves it. good luck with it.
