Default ? about advance ground in

I have ordered AS 5.3 stage 2. In talking with Jay I said that I used the car primarily for lapping and autoX. He suggested that I get 6 deg of advance ground in to bring in the power at a lower RPM. The cam is a 224 224 581 581 with 114 lsa. I went with this to meet Ontario emissions. Are there any issues with tuning with this? I havn't decided about install and tuning. I might do the install myself and get ls1 edit. I have read on this board that there can be PV clearance problem with too much advance. I have also order an adjustable timing set in case I want to move things around.
Does anyone else have this setup. Advice on what to set the rev limiter at.
Also installing yt rockers and compR lifters at the same time.

Just go with the adj. timing set. If I remember correctly, Comp's allow any increment over a range of 12 total degrees, from -6 to +6.

The rollmaster that I have is adjustable in 2 degree increments and I would start at 2-4 and see how you like it. Keep in mind that it peaks up the TQ curve and shortens the horsepower curve when you do that. I would imagine a flatter predictable TQ curve would be better but I am no expert in your sport. You can always change it rather than get a cam with 6 deg. ground in that will have no resale value.

One more thing ....you loose about .011-.012" with each degree advance for clearance. Good luck and enjoy the new set-up.
