How big of a cam can I go
I'm installing heads/cam with heads milled.030. The guy that built my heads said that the largest cam I could fit would be:
Comp Cam # 54-444-11
581/588 Lift
224/230 Dur
I was also considering MTI's X1 cam:
591/571
230/227
Which sounds better?
My heads flow 315 and I have a automatic so I need a 114.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Car will be a weekender and will not have to pass a sniff test for Texas inspection. Thanks in advance!

u don't NEED a 114lsa, with proper tuning a 112 would work just fine... depends on how smooth u want ur idle, and where u want ur power band... do u have headers/exhaust and a 3000+ converter? i think an MTI X1 on a 112 would be good, or an LG G5 (224/228-.581/.574-112)... going big on duration a 114 will move ur peak power up past 6500 with those heads, and auto's don't like high rpm's...

I will have longtubes, 2800 TCI, 3:73 gears, Heads flow about 315, LS1 edit done by MTI. I don't care how much it chops when it idles but I don't won't to be driving with two feet all the time either. I knew that the 114 would push the power band up the RPM scale but I didn't think it would be that high. Im not crazy about turning really high RPMs - I don't won't to be having to mess with the bottom end. I will ask MTI if they have ever tuned a 112 on a automatic.
Thanks
