Default tr 224/224 installed this weekend!!!!

i just got finished installing the tr 224/224 563/563 112 lsa and i love it. sounds awesome. however, i now have a problem with the oil pressure. its always up high to the max. however, i think its a ground problem or a bad sending unit because when i just turn my igntion key the oil pressure gauge shoots up to the top without starting the car. where is the sending unit located? what do you guys think i connected wrong and where is it located?anybody had this problem before???any help would be greatly appreciated

Default Same problem

i installed the same cam in my car about 6 months ago and the same thing happend to me with the oil pressure. The sender for the oil pressure is plugged into the bad of the intake manifold, if you squeeze your arm back there you can probably feel it.

Did you mess with the intake any? Does the gauge go down when you turn the car off?

1. If the pressure reads zero, then the sensor is broken.

2. If the pressure reads MAX, then its unplugged.

3. After you plug it back in, and pressure reads zero, see #1.

(This is assuming its a sensor related problem, and not and internal oil problem)

What do you have the idle set to on her?

And since we're talking, what kind of #'s that LS1 3rd gener putting up at the track and/or on the dyno?

Nice choice on the cam! The TR224 is a great all-around cam and you will be very happy with how it performs for you.

Stock idle speed at this time, so the lope gets masked. I just finished the swap two weeks ago so I haven't dyno'd or done any tuning yet.

The old 355 SBC ran 13.19sec @ 103mph and dyno'd 310hp/363tq, can't wait to see what the LS1 does.
