Default What is Head Casting #799

Is that a valid LS6 casting number or is 243 the only one?

If you look close at the pictures of the combustion chamber you can see a cast in 5.7. The chambers look like an LS6 so I assume that these are a preproduction head. They also have alot of black magic marker marks on them. In fact I think that the area under the valve cover is a little taller than a stock head. Humm, I dont know.

799 casting is a preproduction ls6 head, there is 2 casting companies that gm uses, one is in mexico and they are a sand cast version, the other in canada is a premold version. the 853,806, 863, 817 and 799 are from mexico the 241, 243,706,035 are from canada. I have seen the 799 casting and they look identicle but they flowed a little less than an 243 casting, I think if ported you will see the same results as the 243

Thanks for clarifying the issue. I started to wonder.
