I was looking into doing a stroker short block with the lsx block and was wondering what is the max bore a set of 243 heads can be machined to accept.

 

ive read about guys using them 4.060 lq4/lq9 apps with no issues. thats the biggest ive read about that i remember. katech sells big bore 243's not sure what theyre all about tho.

 

I already have a set in my garage I was going to do my head cam swap in a bit but was wondering what I can look forward to doing later on. I wanted to try and keep my fast 90, edelbrock long tubes, and 243 heads when I do a stroker so that I do not have to buy an all new top end setup.

 

I have one set left of 4.100+ bore LS6 heads on clearance if you're interested.
