Well for mods its a list. All new bearings, gaskets, hone cylinders & install new rings, double roller timing chain, SLP oil pump, underdrive pulley, TSP 228r cam, TSP hardened pushrods, LS7 lifters, trunion upgrade, p&p heads, LS6 valley cover & catch can system, D585 truck coils, MSD wires, also have Pacesetter longtube headers with the TSP true duel exhaust, and thats what I can remember off the top of my head. I removed the AC as well, probably not the best idea here in TX, but I hope to get stationed somewhere else soon. Im also going to do some visual stuff under there too. Hope to start getting all the holes and body seams welded and smoothed out this week inside the engine bay. That way I can paint the bay satin black. Also my exhaust system is going to be a side exit, I finished making a set of boomtubes that are going to be going on this when its done.

Yeah those are the exhaust tubes. Thanks for the complement, they seem to get really mixed reviews. But oh well I have had 6 people ask for me to make them a set.

I didnt get too much done today. I installed my new motor mounts, cleaned and painted some more brackets and the oil pan. Tomorrow I hope to get the cylinders honed and possibly re-install the crank.

I have the TSP duals with the Dynomax...loud as ****. I think there's another one rolling around with duals as well. Sounds like a good list cept for the side exhuast which I'm deff not a fan of but to each their own.

I honestly dont think the duals are loud enough. But I always forget that my car has dynomat all over the F%$&ing place. I think the side exit will look pretty good, but I know that its going to get really mixed reviews. But it seems most of the mods I do people either like or hate.

Today I was able to get a little done after I got out of work. I finished putting together the oil pan and did some flow work on it as well. I honed and measured all the cylinders, I honestly can't believe how good the cylinders were before I even started. The hone I bought worked great, if anyone needs to use it let me know. My new dampener arrived so I cleaned and painted that. I was finally able to find a torque angle gauge, what a PITA they are to find. I was lucky enough to have a lot of help from my mascot, he mostly planted his a$$ on my feet so I would pet him.

Those bores turned out OK but the hone seems to be a little coarse....any
idea what grit it is 150,180,220, etc. I would strongly recommend getting
some Total Seal Quickseat....small container of ring powder that you wipe
in the cylinders during assembly. No oil or dexron just the powder. If the
bores were properly cleaned the powder will turn them a greenish hue and
just pop the slugs in. Trust me you'll actually see the rings start to seat
during assembly....good luck, nice build thread

Yeah I bought the ARP-2000 rod bolts. Which once you pull out the stock rod bolts you'll understand why you need to replace them. The stock bolts only go about halfway through the rods. As for the hone GM recommends using a 4" flex hone between 220-240 grit. I confirmed this with an LS1 tech manual, the MX department at a couple stealerships, and then used Ondemand (still have a password). So then it took me awhile to find the flex hone but I was able to locate a company and used a 240 grit silicon carbide hone. I think that the pics actually make the cylinders look ruff, but they actually feel really smooth.

Yeah I was going to say the pic makes it looks rough but I don't know **** about building a bottom end or the machine work that goes into it. Can't wait till your done. Looks good so far.
