a big cam is a big cam. what makes the difference at the track is setup and da.
car was dynoed at a pretty reputable shop i no what ur sayin tho the hp and mph dont jive i wanna run it again soon doesnt look like ill get any cool air tho

Everyones gonna hate on it.. but there isn't a faster cam on the cam only list.

T-Rex has proven again and again.

Lol proven can mean a lot of different things. There are ls6 cam cars in the tens. Wouldn't that say something?
And there is a reason the trex is on the cam only list, it is obvious but most people don't think about it. And I thought someone best the old cam only best?

Trex is not the most proven cam.. The most proven would be an all around cam. Something like the 228r or the like. Something that makes good power all around is good for dd and gets the job done at the track.*I'm not saying the 228 is it, just an example.

This.

A custom grind would be the most proven.

Maybe others with VIG stalls can chime in. They are inneficient on the back half. I ran a 3800 and was a couple mph low myself, but they were great in the 1/8th.

Same pred.. Mine was a 4000-4400 vig. Didn't show in the 1/8 bit above 110mph it really showed it wasn't that efficient. I'm sure the 410s didn't help either however.
Vig hits hard just isn't that efficient on average.

Was the converter locked on the dyno?

That HP seems high for a high stalled auto on the dyno.

You aren't going to gain much if anything from a cam swap IMO.

You need to look elsewhere for gains worth the effort.

I am highly skeptical of the people claiming a full weight cam only auto trapping 118-120. Around 112-115 seems much more realistic especially in any kind of positive DA.

Drop some weight off the car, put a set of 243's on it, or spray it and be happy. A cam swap alone will not change much.

I would say the most proven cam would be either TR's 224 or 228r. Those were the first two that came to mind when I saw this thread title.
