Default Long Term Engine Storage

So I've gotta store a 350 pretty soon and I got this idea, what if I pulled all the accessories, intake, heads, oil pan, ect. ect. Then put it in a 55 gallon drum and filled it with oil? It wouldn't rust or anything, so it should be ok for quite a while right? Any pros/cons or better ideas?

Dropping the motor in a 55 Gal drum of oill is a little extreme Just coat the cylinder walls with oil and with the oil pan removed turn the motor upside down while on an engine stand pour a little bit of oil onto the crank and rods and rotate the enigne by hand a few times, get a heavy duty plastic bag(Moroso sells Engine bags for around $8.00) and seal it up good. Leave the heads as they are and just wrap them up in heavy duty garbage bags.

If the engine is going to be in storage for a while I would rotate the crank a few times every month.

BTW if you put it in a drum filled with oil you would get oil into the cooling passages.

Excessive is a pretty good way to describe me.
