Well thats what i am asking. My new ls1 is the 04 model and it has 241 heads. My old one has the 853s on it. I was just wondering if that was normal. And which were better?

Ok. Now my next question.
Is it worth it to upgrade to 243s and a z06 cam?

The 243s would be a nice improvement over the factory 853s, but Id definetly look into a different cam that would offer you much better gains than the factory zo6 cam.

The LS6 heads are a good cheep upgrade but the LS6 cam is not worth the effort of installation. A good after market cam would be a much better choice with much better performance not to mention the kool lope at idle...

Well, to make it relative, there is not an easier V8 out there to do heads and cam on...
