Sorry I was out Friday and didn't see this. As long as you order the 5.3L heads specifically for the Tsunami or MS3, they can be setup to clear so you do not have to flycut your pistons!

Hope that helps!

Matt

Matt Lmk how the set up works out for you. Im planning on a very similar set up for my 96z. Though I was thinking about trying out the polluter but not sure if it'd clear I really don't want to flycut.

The MS camshafts are smaller than the Polluter & will have better p/v clearance. The P/V depends a lot on the cylinder head you select when building your combo. We offer a 215 & 227 configured to clear the MS camshafts incase you decide to go aftermarket casting heads!

I'll probably go with the tried and true MS cam but off hand do you think your aftermarket casting would clear the polluter? Not much about the polluter and I'm always up to try new things.

Depends on tire size and such too. What tire height (or full size info and I can calculate it) will you be running? Auto or manual transmission? Do you just do street, or lots of racing, any highway time, etc?

cars never been driven I got it out of a yard and turning it into a drag car, going to be running 28x10 slicks and a th400 with a 4000 stall and a transbrake with a 100 shot if that helps.

Alot of racing and the occasional weekend cruise to meets and car shows around town race weight should be around 3000 lbs maybe 2900

Looks like a 3.90:1 gear ratio would let you trap 145mph at 6800rpm in 3rd gear. That is assuming no slip though. With that 400rpm stall speed, you could assume about 10-15mph loss up there, so this would get you to around a 130mph trap speed or so. That should do the trick, I think!

Keep in mind though, as stated, 145mph would be with NO slip on that stall and no mph loss to that slip. You can bet on close to 15mph loss!
