Default Stoped making LS1 Timing dampander

Why did they stop making the LS1 timing chain dampaner?????

the timing chain dampander keeps you from snapping your chain right?

i have a ProGear adjust timing set do i need the dampander?

i will check with them... but i was more curious why they stoped producing the LS1 dampner,,,, was there a designe flaw with it? what were the OE dampaners made of

There wasn't a lot of demand and the price was high (over $100) because they were not mass produced like the LS2 damper, which doesn't fit the LS1 block.

Is the LS6 (pre-drilled for it) using the same TC damper as the LS1? And are all LS6 blocks pre-drilled. Just curious.

My 02 LS1 was pre-drilled but it also the LS6 block.

My concern with the LS1/LS6 TC damper is how strong is it, has anyone ever known the plastic to break/chip/fragment or otherwise fly apart...?

Its more of a Nylon type material and seems pretty rugged. Lifter trays are also non-metallic.
