Default wires getting burned on headers

I just put new hooker headers on my 99 z28 ls1 and the wires are getting burned from the wires sitting on the headers..tried wraping them in heat shield tape but still burned them any suggestions on keeping them off the haders or high temp wires anything really..

I also have hooker headers, but regardless what kind of headers you have they get real close to the wires or touch.

I have MSD wires and they bend actually, so get you a set of those then snap them onto the plug and bend them over off the header. I have had my MSD wires on and bent away from the headers for about 20k miles and have no problems what so ever.

I turn mine where the plug wire connects to the coil. It pulls the plug wire away from the header just enough to keep them from burning.
