Default misfire/hesitation

It happens more on the highway than anywhere else. Its a 99 z28 6 speed. When I have the car on the highway in a high gear at a low rpm, lets say 6th gear at 65-70 mph, the engine starts hesitating as I get on the throttle. While this is happening my shifter starts violently shaking back and forth as if my engine were misfiring horribly. It doesnt happen while cruising at a constant speed and rpm, only while giving it gas. It doesnt matter if I ease into it gently or stomp the gas pedal to the floor. Has this happened to anyone else? If so what is the solution? If I had to guess I would say its an Intake manifold seal or something along those lines. Maybe even a TPS but I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem. It ended up being a bad injector. I think looking for vacuum leaks is a good start. If you have access to a good scan tool that would be a big help to check all your sensors.

It suddenly started one day as I was driving down the highway. My check angine light has come on before for o2 sensor circuit voltage. I replaced the MAF and that code went away but I still have this hesitation problem. Other than slp lid and exhaust my car is completely stock. I don't really have access to a good scan tool. I just think it's weird circumstances for this hesitation to be happening because it goes away at higher rpm.
