Anyone? Kind of looks like a partial block fill and a pinhole drilled into it??? I have no idea.

It does looked clogged. The hole may be from steam/water pressure.

Look at the gasket ,,,,,,it has small holes instead of being the size of the block or head . And yes You can seperate the tranny leaving the torque conv connected to the flywheel/flexplate .

The heads have already been discussed, but for your tranny problem, I believe that you need to remove the converter as well, IIRC I saw someone else ask the same thing you did sometime back, I should go back and double check on that

Those are just stains on the gasket. When you pull it off you will be able to see into the block although you may need to suck out the coolant to inspect it better. Think you need to keep a closer watch on coolant in the future though, usually the Dexcool blocks are very clean.

With your starter out, there is one little bolt that holds the plastic sheild the starter snout slides through...take that sheild off and turn the crank so the converter bolt is just below the top of the opening, then you can take it out easily....turn crank and repeat till you have all the converter bolts out
