Ive seen one in a stock 6.0 with turbo. It came on early too.....couldnt even see the bend, until you checked against a flat surface. It did make noise though.
Thats why cummins rods are bigger then fords and durmaxes too....lol
I saw a experiment on engine stress from an indy car team. It was very interesting, but the power and boost made only small changes in stress, while rpm goes up by the square and detonation breaks things.

Well yea, it is possible to build an engine that makes enough torque to bend the rods. Still, as stated below, rod loads ramp up very quickly as engine speed increases.... much more quickly than additional load caused by the engine producing more torque.
It's really too bad you can't replace the rods without removing the rotating assembly!

Several years ago I bought a built shortblock (forged rods & pistons, ARP main studs, etc) and I wish I would have kept the stock shortblock and spent the money on other things. If you have forged pistons, stronger 6.0 rods, and aftermarket rod bolts... think really hard about whether it's worth $1,200 to tear that all apart and put in better rods!

I would run it. 15 psi isnt that bad. Ive been running a stock 5.3 with stock rod bolts at 18 psi for a couple years now at 6500 lbs. I wouldnt try to run it past 6500 though. Maybe 7000 if you had to for some reason every once in a while.
pulley it for 15 at 6000 and dont let it detonate

It could be possible he had a shop build the motor for him and he never knew it didn't have good rods in it. Sadly I've seen this happen before to people, they never take a look inside the shortblock so never know, just have a shop build them a complete motor. If it's already complete and you aren't doing anything else, you could leave it alone, I'm running 24lbs on stock rods(the better ones tho in my L33), but really if you have the rest of the parts, just drop the money now and don't worry about it. Nothing worse than having to do it twice!

sorry to hear about this
I would leave the rods based off your mods and plans, but then again seeing that t doesn't have the parts it should you have to ask is the motor built properly?
I seen a car a few years back that was supposed to be a forged high comp. 346, ETP heads, Single Plane, etc ,but it made no power. The motor was pulled to be gone thre after checking, cam, springs, lifter preload , etc and when the heads were pulled we were shocked!
stock fly cut pistons
and then as you could imagine found it to be a complete stock short block

Im not going to name anyone as of now the guy never responded till today.
I truly apologize if the rods are not forged. I paid for a motor to be forged rods and pistons. I am very sorry that this happened. I have called my friend and several times and left messages with him. I think he is avoiding me because he knows about this. I don't think we will be friends anymore after this. Like I said I truly apologize for this. I got screwed in the beginning. I am a good guy and I'm not out to screw anyone over. I've always been honest up front and treated people as fairly as I could. Like I said I am truly sorry this happened. If I was in anyway able to afford to pay for this I would, but I can't afford it. I've recently got rid of my TA cause it was costing me money and paid off some bills. The economy sucks and I kno how hard it is to come across money. I am very sorry this happened.
