Default The great head thread

Ill be in the market for a set of heads for my ls2.. The heads that catch my eye are the tfs 225's which have been provem time and time again.. But require modifications to run stock rockers, the afr 230 v2 heads I have seen pat g make over 500 rwhp on a 6.0 and seen other good results also and the prc 227 heads, I have not seen many people running these heads nor have I seen many graphs with them, I know snl uses them and claim to make over "500 rwhp" and are the best cost effective head... ANY imput would be greatly appreciated.

225 tfs get my vote...I broke 520rwhp with my 215s on a stock bottom end 346...

if you get the heads new I would upgrade to the ls3 valves they are a ton lighter and should only be about $150 adder...

also I believe TEA can put in powdered metal guides in so you won't have to worry about running the stock rockers and wearing out the bronze ones

This would also be the higher of the 3 heads.. Id have to grit my teeth alot to drop the 2600 needed to get the above stated quality head... the afr's and prc's are factory rocker friendly correct?

any head with bronze guides are NOT stocker rocker friendly...

TFS just has the ***** to state it...and plenty are still running the stocker rockers with no problems...I mean just think about it...why would a tfs head be any different than an afr or prc...what makes that head HAVE to run aftermarket rockers...

True... Im in heavy debate over which head to buy.. My tuner said tfs and dont look back.. And im thinking he is right. But im hoping to find a set of low mile 225's.
