i'm sorry if i might sound like a dick, but if you don't know the use of a high stall torque converter, you definitely don't need either one of these cams. even more, you won't want either of these as a DD style cam. i have a MS4 in in my car with all the supporting mods & a pile of weight reduction & it's not for the weak hearted. some of these guys will tell you that a great tuner will make a MS4 drive like stock. I say bullshit after having my car to several of the best tuners known. God himself wouldn't be able to make a MS4 have the driveablilty some of these guys claim.

you just need to learn how to drive around your cam and a good tuner can almost make it perfect but not completely btw i have a 243 247 cam

I think you misunderstand what I mean I know how the stall works but I men for car that will be used daily on the streets even when do racing it will not be from stand steel. As I now stalls is best for a track cars . this is what I think

Back to the cam if u really think the MS4 is not for DD from your experience what do you suggest except a custom cam what about the Torquer 2 or 3
I am sure that I need to change the cam. to get the car moving and RPM fast .
One of the things I will do know the 3.91s but I am still looking for a good cam that will match me setup.

i agree with nsty98, i run a ms4 as well and i do not think its a good dd what so ever, my car drives really well but that doesnt mean the issues of cam surge, bucking, and crap mpg isnt there. the only good about the ms4 is it will pull crazy on the top end, and with some spray it will put a huge smile on your face. its alot easier to run a big cam in a 6 speed car, i wouldnt even wanna know how this cam acts in a auto. also with the ms4 you need the other mods as well, no lower than 4.10s , i had to get bigger injectors, and also a fast setup is pretty much right at home on a cam only car.

if your looking for good power, and a great dd, i would go with a smaller cam, and ported 243s to match. my friends auto had a setup like that and it drove great and had alot of power, i thought his car was way more fun to drive around in then mine, but you need a stall man, there is just no way around that. 90% of people that are new to ls1s think the bigger the cam the better, that is so not true.i will say if i could start all over i would have just got a procharger and been done, that is what im going for in my next setup

Mo, you have a good cam that matches your setup. The other cams will not work with stock stall.
You came here seeking advice, then do listen. Get a stall.

You need a stall with a large cam period the car will be a dog without it. Why are you roll racing an auto anyway? Everyone knows that autos are killer from a dig Especially with a stall!!!! So just buy one and a cooler and stop arguing. Leave the roll racing to us m6 guys.

If you get a cam you need a stall, becasue it wont idle in gear with those cams you will have to put in in nutral it will be a pita.If you dont want a stall then keep the cam you have.

I don't think he can run a MS4 with Stage 2.5 heads without flycutting. A stall does alot more than just rev you up before takeoff. It also puts you in your cams power range and keeps you there by creating shift extentions. Which means instead off your cars rpm range dropping back to 3500-4000 it now only drops back to 5000-5500rpm. And that definately makes a difference it being street or track racing. And that Fast intake moved your powerband up too!

Holy crap you are on the stock stall? It doesn't matter if you are roll racing or drag racing. A stall will always yield greater results than a cam swap. Your problems stem from the stall. Ni matter what cam you get it will never run well without a stall.

you specifically said you want it to accellerate better so forget a bigger cam as a single step to improving performance! Keep your cam, change you stall to around a 3200 to 3600 with a high str, leave your gears alone, save yourself some $ and frustration, and you will be much quicker and happier. Asking the same question over and over is not going to get you the answer you wanted to hear. You've been given much good advice. Take it.
