Default what to do

im on a budget build and kinda run out of money but i have a set of 317 heads want to know how much could i mill them to come close to 243 the cam im going to be runing is a 218/222 550/549 116+3 would i need to change my pushrods too thanks guys

what lifters? best thing is to buy the little $20 checker to be 100% sure

Stock lift is between .479 and .500 so .479 to .550 is .071 divided by 2 is .0355 The base circle of You're new cam is gonna have a .0355" smaller base circle so I would say with almost 100% certainty that You'll need p-rods that are .025 or .050" longer , but previous poster is right , the only way to know for sure is to spend 15 or 20 bucks and buy a p-rod length checker and figure out how to use it accurately , go from there.
Clearance issues , are You talking piston to valve , if so , You should be fine there .
