Default How to make more power

Ok first off i am new to the ls scene so be easy on me, i just have a few questions as to what i can do to make some more power in my ls car. It already has a gm hot cam, fast intake, ported throttle body, port and polish on factory heads, under drive pulley, slp long tubes and loudmouth exhaust. What other mods could i do to help make some more power, i know i need to get a better rear end, so that's on my list of to do's. Its a M6 car by the way. Thanks in advance.

If the heads haven't been milled yet, have them milled to bump up the compression a little bit, or run thinner head gaskets, better yet if you budget permits new high flow/milled heads. Bigger cam with a little more lift(.580"-.595" range), and have the intake ported.
BTW, what FAST intake and TB size do you have?

get a bigger cam, something in the mid 230s and like a .610 lift on a 112 will make 25+ more hp than your hot cam. get some ls7 lifters and some pushrods while your at it.

i know other people may disagree, but the best/most benefical 1 mod for hp on "ANY" ls based motor is the cam. what other mod is goona cost $400 bucks and get you 40+ more hp in an LS1....even if you add in the lifters and rods, your HP/$ ratio is still great

I would really look into a different cam in that setup. The hot cam is a decent cam but when it comes to aftermarket there is definitely some power to be made there. Going up to something like our 228R on a 112 LSA would see a noticeable power pickup and I bet there would hardly be a difference in drivability. Some aftermarket heads would definitely help but I think more power is in the cam setup then anything else.

i always wanted an ms3, but then decided on torquer v3. id say it makes withn 5 peak hp of the ms3, but much more low end than the ms3.... id go with either prc 2.5s or trick flow as casts....the as casts are maybe 00 bucks more, and id say would make roughly 5-10 more hp....either way tho, both great heads for the money.

If you have room in the funds department I would do a full head/cam swap and get the most potential out of your setup. Thats just my .02c.
