Im stumped! the noise sounds so loud like a bad rocker but then stethasope says its down low,..process of elimination my friend, at least determine the side of the engine its coming from, then take off the valve cover and go from there..good luck
btw it baffles me that OP has not seen any power loss, which hopefully is something minor..ive had stupid noisey LS1 lifters b4..close but slightly less of a tick than that..if it matters

Mine sounded like that I thought it was a lifter too but it ended up being a spun bearing causing rod knock and my car has 100k miles

park that beast and pull the intake, check the lifters, rockers, and pushrods, if it is any of those then u will be able to fix it in 1 afternoon, if not then u haven't wasted anytime because u have to go lower.

Thnx guys, I had someone look at the car that knows these motors today. First thing he smelt coolant its a little low *no oil in coolant* He says lifter like everyone else then he looks and says this engine has been opened the seal was red and not gray or black from factory so he tells me he feels bad because working on it is just opening a can of worms and tells me to just sell it which I cant do and wouldnt put this on somene else. I put a new oil filter in today and put the lucas in the oil was VERY thin but this didnt help at all its loud as ever but its weird it still goes away and comes back in a few minutes after we put the lucas in and started it it was QUIET i couldnt believe it i thought it helped then 3 minutes later I drive and it the loud tick comes. The car has 0 power loss idles perfect ect its just crazy. I cant afford to fix it now due to paying cash last month for this thing so I really hope it doesnt get crazy.....

That's what im running into.2.5 miles on 6.0 liter swap.the noise is right there in the intake.you can even feel it.but it goes away and comes back.I've never known a rod bearing to go away.usually its stays.you guys lean toward lifter?its not a rap sou.d.more solid
