I'm running LS3 heads with my LQ4, you may be able to get away with it as well but have to check the PTV clearance.

I know ported 243's go real well with them too.

GM puts LS3 heads on a 4.065" bore Min. to help unshroud the 2.165" Intake
valve. Stay cathedral for more average torque.

Depending on your goals, an LS3 head will limit the size of cam you can run without flycutting because of PTV clearance. Feel free to contact me and I can help you get in the right h/c package. Can even do the work/tuning if you feel like a roadtrip.

My LQ4 with LS3 top end just made 415rwhp. This is pretty good considering the low compression, that got even lower when I fly cut the pistons to make room for the cam.

For bang for the buck a PRC cnc ported LS6 head is hard to beat.

http://www.texas-speed.com/p-1391-pr...ted-heads.aspx

If your looking to spend some extra $$ on a aftermarket casting the PRC all new aftermarket casting LS3 heads features smaller than stock (250cc) runners, better p/v for larger camshafts, and smaller chambers. All of these features while moving 360 cfm!

Another great option that I would really consider is the PRC 227 small bore heads. You can setup the heads with smaller runners for big compression & still run a healthy camshaft unlike milling stock style cylinder heads!

Not to mention they're also on special!
